If you spend the entire day dreaming up your worst nightmares, guess what you’re gonna have by the end of it.
If you keep having to say you are something, you’re not that thing.
You’re just a poser. Stop posing and start doing the thing and stop expecting rewards for it. You’ll feel better.
The hardest part to get used to on the internet is that there’s always going to be a ton of “you-but-10-years-ago” people out there. Of all the stupid things we’ve done and feel however about, there’s people out there to constantly remind us of those things. Like a mirror into the past.
No one’s gonna do anything until it’s too late and then they’ll do even less because it’s too late.
If you’re telling someone not to do something, please include all your reasoning too. Otherwise you’re just telling someone to do it even harder.
Really bothers me when people suggest change, but stick to all of the old “patches“ put in place to patch up a system that was patched… because it sucks…
It really doesn’t make me take them seriously. Like, say something then immediately double back on it like some drunkard taking a step and then landing on their ass.
“Hold on, I’m trying to figure out what’s right and wrong without doing either.”
“Look everybody! Somebody did something weird! How should the rest of us ruin our day over this?”
You can’t change others, just make sure you are what you want to be.
“Brutalist architecture is ugly” = “this tastes like chicken”
Yeah, think on that for a few.
When given discrete options, always choose the one that isn’t listed and that you made up because you think it was funny. Always.
Just like the ironic caring nature of a teenager shrieking about how little they care about something we have the ironic insecurity in constantly letting others know that what you’re doing is correct.
My life: “Well I have no idea, I guess I’ll just do whatever feels right.“
Someone else’s life: “Oh I know exactly what you should do.“
Toughest part about being a grown up is that no one cares about what you care about, and if you want to do something you care about you’re gonna have to do it alone.
